Larkspur, CO (March 3, 2010) – The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) Foundation is proud to announce that, Rob Davis, Manager of Yogi Bear™ Camp-Resort and Water Playground in Wisconsin Dells Wisconsin successfully earned their Certificate of Campground Management from the National School of RV Park & Campground Management during the February 16-21, 2010 course date.

The Certificate of Campground Management program is offered one week a year, every February and is held at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, WVA.  This year, 30 students from both the private and public sector attended and successfully earned their certificate.

The 50-hour/credit course offers campground owners and managers the opportunity to enhance their management skills through a high-quality 2 year educational program. Students, who intend to earn a Certificate of Campground Management, must attend both years to accumulate the 50 credits.  After earning their 50 credits, they may choose to return to the Graduate Program to continue their education to receive their Certified Park Operator (CPO) accreditation.

The Certificate of Campground Management program offers an intensive curriculum which focuses on business management principles and practices as applied to the RV park and campground industry.  This year’s curriculum included information in the following areas:  Emergency Planning Personnel Management, Business Planning Practices, Technology Applications, Fed/State/Local Regulations, Insurance and much more.

“The program is a great way for campground owners and managers to learn more about their industry and to develop skills that they’ll be able to institute in their parks.  Students who complete this program are definitely dedicated to the industry and are the ones paving the way for the future and growth of our industry.  They should be very proud of their efforts,” comments National School of RV Park & Campground Management instructor, Cheryl Smith, Education Director for ARVC.

Former student, Scott Crompton, CPO & Owner from Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park of Western New York, says “I would recommend this school to any campground owner or manager.  No matter how long you have been operating a campground there is plenty in the curriculum to impact your business right now.  The school is tough and focused on building short and long term value in your operation.”
